Ready for Germany

We are officially ready for our European travels!  As Parker has grown the Baby Bjorn has slowly become too small and we have been forced to retire our well loved travel companion.  We used it for the last time with Parker in Cabo at Christmas :).

But not to worry, we now have a replacement for it!  We found this beauty at REI and both dad and baby love it!  It came complete with sun shade and teddy bear.

Our marathon family tour continues in Columbus.  We have enjoyed visiting with family and playing in the woods!  Parker was able to spend the whole afternoon playing with Aunt Kitty and her animals.  She came home not only exhausted, but with her first tick!

Family, family, family

As many of you know, we have been preparing for our "great move" for many months now.  So, after our fabulous Christmas in Cabo with the ENTIRE family, it was time for the real fun to begin....

On February 9, John and I packed up our little family, including 2 dogs, 6 suit cases, and one irritated 16 month old and began our long awaited move.  This move was to take place in many stages, the first being to leave Texas where we have called home for the last 6 years.  Overall Texas has been good to us, we're leaving with more than we arrived with.  John was able to check off many of those "army" boxes and I was able to complete my masters' degree, but most importantly we are leaving Texas with an additional family member!  Cora Parker will always be our "little Texas girl".  We will miss all of the friends that we have made!

So back to the move.....we left Texas and headed to Georgia to spend some much needed time with the family and do some catching up.  We've spent time in Athens, LaFollette, and Columbus......and I'm thinking that we've seen almost everyone!  It was great to spend some time in Athens with my family and enjoy some of my old school favorites....aka DePalmas!  On a sad note, we are not able to take my beloved dog, Broly, to Germany with us.  For some reason the Germans think that Staffordshire Terriers are "vicious"....little do they know Broly wouldn't hurt a fly.   Luckily for us, my brother was willing to "adopt" Broly until we return to the states in 3 years.  Next, we were off to LaFollette to visit my dad's family.  We had a relaxing weekend and Regan provided me with a much needed break :)!  Finally, we headed back to Columbus where we will wrap up our "touring".  It's safe to say that our little family, as a whole, is pretty much exhausted by this point.  We will be spending the rest of the week here  before heading to Germany on Monday, 2/28.  John and I are both excited and nervous about our new adventure! I am going to try to keep everyone updated through this blog, wish me luck!
