August 2013

In August Mo had surgery and Juju and Denney came to visit.  We didn't do a whole lot of traveling or even going out for that matter, due to the fact that I was HUGE!  We mainly stayed around the house and prepared for Liam's arrival.  The week before Juju and Denney arrived Mo had ENT surgery.  She has had sinus issues since birth and the doctors felt it was time to do something.  So she went in for tubes, an adenoidectomy, tonsil reduction and some other reduction of sinus somethings in her nose.  It was hard seeing her so pitiful.  The first couple of days were hard on us all with her hurting and not really wanting to eat, sleep or drink :(.  But she recovered and the family arrived.  We took Denney to Regensberg, Parsberg, and Rottenberg.  The week was nice and we enjoyed spending time with Juju and Denney.

Plitvice, Croatia July 2013

Ebby flew in the day that Mitch and Lele left.  Parker was SO excited to see her!  It's safe to say that Parker has mastered the art of manipulating Ebby :)!  Charlie and Katie left for Vienna and the five of us left for Croatia, in a small, hatchback rental car...the Cmax.  The trip was great and the park was incredible!  Plitvice is a national park comprised of a series of waterfalls and lakes, it is beautiful.  Before moving to Germany we had seen the park on the travel channel as on of the wonders of the world and a must see, well it most certainly is!  The park is located in the middle of Croatia, around nothing.  We rented a small apartment and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

At home July 2013

We spent that last few days of the group's visit hanging out around the house.  We went to the fest in our town, grilled out, and just enjoyed being together.  I think it's safe to say that we are ALL looking forward to living within a car's ride next year!

Prague and Berlin July 2013

Next on our mini vacation with the family was Prague and then on to Berlin.  Prague has been one of our favorite destinations since moving here, so we were delighted to share it with the group.  We left the girls with Ileana while we were gone, so the traveling was easy and child-free!

From Prague we drove up to Berlin.  Neither John nor I had been to Berlin, so this was new for everyone.  The city was great and the weather was nice and warm.  We enjoyed every minute of our time in the city.  Our last morning when John went to check on the car, he discovered that someone had broken into it during the night.  All that was stolen was our Garmin, but we did have to drive 5 hours home with no front window...NOT fun :(.
